List of Topics for Developing Social Problems

The New York State Social Studies Curriculum for grades 5, 7, 8 and 11 includes key turning points and events in the history of the United States.  These can be organized into different historical time periods. 

1. Select one of the general links below according to which time period you will studying and open that general topic link.
2. When you open the general topic link, skim the titles of the numerous links. Select and open those that will relate to a specific problem of interest to you or your small group.
3. To learn more about your specific problem, do an Internet search using search words from the links you have visited.
