TASK:

Task: Class Share Out

Our  Principal, Asst .Principals, Teachers, Guidance Counselors, Deans and Parents wants you (the students) to be better with your “Time Management Struggle ”

You and your group will figure out solutions (new ways)  for students in all grades to become more aware of getting to school /classes on time at FDA1. (Real-Life Connection)

(Google Slides Presentation Using Incentives , PPA, PSA or Design a Poster)

Vocabulary - Time Management  the process of organizing and planning how to allocate your time between different tasks and activities. It allows you to work smarter, not harder, leading to greater productivity and reduced stress.

Public Service Announcement (PSA): is a video created to raise awareness and change public attitudes and behavior toward a social issue.

Public Policy Analyst (PPA):  A public policy is a government action usually intended to deal with a social problem. Every day policies are enacted in your school, city, state, country and throughout the world that will affect your life

 

PROCESS:                           

  1. You and your group will work together with the school’s principal, deans , teachers and classmates. Remember you are in this together as a group and are equally responsible for the group’s research /performance.

 

  1. Complete each of Public Policy Analyst (PPA) worksheets # 1-6.

1.   Define the Problem: Worksheet#1

2.   Gather the Evidence: Worksheet #2

3.   Identify the Causes: Worksheet #3

4.   Evaluate an Existing Policy: Worksheet #4

5.   Develop Solutions: Worksheet #5

6.   Select the Best Solution: Worksheet#6  (Feasibility vs. Effectiveness)

 

GROUP WORK

At this time students will be broken up in groups each having a role to carry out:

Leader: make sure the group has a clear understanding of tasks to carry out and resolve conflict if any.

Note / Data Recorder: Takes Notes or Records:  About which grade and or how many students struggle with time ?

( Students will go to get data , from Deans, Teachers, and Principal )

Time Recorder: Recording how much time does a student spend on social media at night

Photographer: Takes pictures of teachers' data  charts and monthly charts of students by grade of struggling with time management .

Interviewer: Speaking to the principal, other administration, teachers, and students about why it is a struggle to get to school not completing assignments on time  and on time to classes during the day.

 

GATHERING EVIDENCE

Task 1 - You and your group will visit to go around the school after  1st Period and take notes or get data from deans daily log .

Task 2- You and your group will gather evidence from their data and make a chart of what they observed in 5 days and write a hypothesis about students and time management .

Task 3 - You and your group from your group will be able to create a video using Google slides, PSA or Design a Poster (rubric attached) to solutions or Paper /Digitally and adding the PPA method.

IDENTIFY THE CAUSES New York City causes:

●Not enough STUDENTS REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF TIME MANAGEMENT

●Not knowing how serious the decrease in students completing simple homework /classwork / projects etc.

●Not enough of support from parents

* Distributing more pamphlets in school to all students
