Your problem (phrase):           Increased alcohol usage from 1980—1920

 

Briefly list at least three underlying factors or causes that contributed to the problem that you have identified (support these factors with evidence if possible):

Saloons were increasing during the early 1900’s because breweries made contracts with them that were of great profit to both. 

Immigration from Europe was increasing during this period and new immigrants were attracted by the saloons where cheap beer could be purchased. 

Saloons often had gambling and prostitutes which resulted in more alcohol consumption.
